The work was undertaken after the call of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology on “Creating National Research Networks in issues relating to European Roadmap for Research Infrastructures, by ESFRI- European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures” and included two studies: the Feasibility Study and the Study for the strategic use of European Research Infrastructure DARIAH. In this context two events were organized to raise awareness of the scientific/research community on developments on the Humanities related to the introduction and application of digital tools and methods [conference for the presentation of the “Creating Network Infrastructure for the Research of the Humanities” (2010) and a workshop entitled “Humanities encounter computer science” (2011)].
Objectives of The Feasibility Study:
- To record the current situation in research in the field of Humanities.
- To explore the requirements for the operation of a national infrastructure.
- To be a policy tool used by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology so that the state will be committed to the European Commission in participating to the European DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities).
