Δημοσίευση στις 3/1/2020 άρθρου με τίτλο Ψηφιακές Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες και Ψηφιακή Ιστορία της Τέχνης: Ένα νέο ερευνητικό πεδίο, για τη στήλη DHt(r)ip στο ιστολόγιο ΝΗΜΑ της Υποδομής ΔΥΑΣ. Το άρθρο πραγματεύεται ζητήματα που αφορούν στο νέο ερευνητικό πεδίο της Ψηφιακής Ιστορίας της Τέχνης ως υποπεριοχής των Ψηφιακών Ανθρωπιστικών Επιστημών (Digital Humanities). Ειδικότερα γίνεται αναφορά σε δύο διακλαδώσεις του εν λόγω πεδίου: Στο πλαίσιο της πρώτης αξιοποιούνται τα εργαλεία της ψηφιακής τεχνολογίας σε ερευνητικές και σωστικές διαδικασίες με σκοπό την τεκμηρίωση των ίδιων των καλλιτεχνικών έργων. Η δεύτερη – χάριν της παραγωγής ερευνητικών αποτελεσμάτων – εστιάζει στη συστηματική συσσώρευση ενός μεγάλου όγκου ‒ετερόκλητων συχνά‒ ψηφιακών δεδομένων.

The presentation explores further steps for advocating the use of the Backbone Thesaurus by producing and disseminating promotional material  which will focus and explicitly explain to thesauri holders (stakeholders / organisations), with concrete examples, the benefits of connecting to the BBT.

The paper discusses how the temporal object concept of Heurist handles problems of accurate representation of temporal data derived from historical documents. It focuses on the handling of missing data and use of calendar styles other than the Gregorian one.

This long paper set a context for training around Research Infrastructures, and their inclusion in formal Higher Education courses. Using PARTHENOS materials as a case study, we discussed the rationale for and process of designing the course to incorporate training materials around Research Infrastructures following extensive research via a survey, desk research and workshops into the current state of training provision in the Digital Humanities within Higher Education Institutions. It also discussed the design of the resulting module in more detail, and the results of the evaluation process we have undertaken. Finally, we offered the lessons learned throughout this process and recommendations for the incorporation of training materials from Digital Research Infrastructures.



This paper is a brief presentation of APOLLONIS – the Greek Infrastructure for Digital Arts, Humanities and Language Research and Innovation. More specifically the paper focuses on the identity of this infrastructure and presents its main goals which are the development of methodological and technological standards, as well as the exchange of expertise and access to cognitive resources


This paper focuses on the challenges experienced by the Academy of Athens team in implementing the BBT (BackBone Thesaurus) during the compilation of Dyas Humanities Thesaurus. The paper reviews issues in classifying terms in BBT with spatiotemporal attributes, suggests improvements in the facets and hierarchies definitions and detects areas that are not covered by the BBT facets developed so far.
